@JAYJARDIN I am envious of your spindle much too wet here. Your garden has been very much loved by someone in the past with good knowledge. Beware you are not digging up snowdrops at this time of year easy to do if you don't know the garden well.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
Oh. I'm no digging yet- have to get the inside of the house sorted first and the fences replaced so it'll be Spring before I dig ! I don't think the garden has been loved by anyone for at least 6 years, the first owners of the house were interested in gardening but the next owners were not and have let everything grow too big and have pruned everything very badly so there is a lot to do to get the existing plants into shape. I should have recognised the spindle as I had a huge specimen in my previous garden !
