Too late for new lavender?

Hello one and all, is it too late to take some lavender cuttings ready for next year? My plant is very leggy and I forgot to sort it out earlier on.
Many thanks

In a word - yes, it's too late this year.
Plants are rapidly shutting down for the winter.
You need to take cuttings when plants are actively growing which encourages roots to grow.
This time of year most plants have shut up shop until Spring.

  • Many thanks, next year it is then. 😊
  • I've got new flowers just opening on some of mine, they're very confused, but I still wouldn't recommend taking cuttings now :)
  • Thanks Buttercupdays, flowers are not the only confused ones! 😊
But we now have some chilly wet days.

Yes it's too late. That doesn't mean you can't do it though. You may get some to root...
