Rudbeckia Goldstrum

Ok Earlier this year I bought some rudbeckia as plug plants and grew them on in pots before planting out. Although they produced an abundance of foliage I got no flowers. Is this normal in a first year :)

Yes, that is perfectly normal for perennials.
You'll have a lovely show next year, they’re late flowering so will continue after other stuff had died off.   I’ve still got a couple of flowers now.

When they start getting into big clumps just dig a few bits up and plant elsewhere,  the plant that keeps on giving.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
