Rose pruning advice please

I have a pretty yellow single-flowered small-leaved rose growing against a wall in my new garden, I think it may be Rosa Xanthina Canarybird (but I may be wrong) and I'm wondering when to prune please?

There's a standard Canary Bird rose in a front garden a few doors down from me.
It flowers very early in the season way before other roses start to flower.
The owners do prune it to keep it quite small and retain the weeping habit - it does look great, but only for a couple of weeks a year.

Not a rose I have any experience of, but from what I've read, they don't need any pruning and will happily grow into a very big plant.

Assuming your rose is Canary Bird, if you can leave it alone - that's probably the best option, but if you need to prune it then any time from now until Feb should be fine.

My daughter has Canary Bird. She doesn't prune it apart from snipping off any dead bits.
