  • Just make a log pile with them. The insects will make their own homes … and then more fungi will appear … marvellous. 😊 
    I think you've just convinced me to let my husband borrow my Dad's chainsaw to do that! 😄 (I mind less if he's using it stood on the floor.)

    A decent sized log pile can also be provide nest sites for wrens and robins, and hibernation sites for frogs, toads, newts and hedgehogs. 😊

    A log pile is a great addition for any garden @dorisf0555   - even if it's a small one, and a bigger one is wonderful for all sorts of wildlife. I shove all sorts of branches etc into corners, and they work too. 
    Your young 'un will find lots of interesting things in there - along with the fungi  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
