  • We get squirrels too, but I've only seen them burying, or searching for nuts - and digging up the bulbs!!!  Grrr!!

They do that here as well! I think the two squirrels we've got at the moment are a young late bred lot as they seem quite small. They may well be investigating what they can eat as I've not seen them eating these tree seeds before. They've even nibbled some late rose buds.

I've just noticed that this thread does not have the title I thought I gave it!!
Where did the final three letters come from (hed) and is there any way in which I can amend it?

Just in case you're tempted to discard them somewhere, remember they're FATAL to horses and donkeys - as a local farmer found to his cost.
  • Point taken.  We have a wheelie bin for garden refuse, which is collected by the council weekly. Very useful for stuff we can't compost.
  • Our local pitch and putt golf course is surrounded by sycamores and in the spring there can be more mini trees growing than grass (no exageration), yet after a couple of months they are all gone once the grass has been cut.

Maybe something eats ours but I never see more than half a dozen seedlings and I'm not the most fastidious gardener😉
    In London. Keen but lazy.
