Spurge or sweet woodruff seedlings?

B3B3 Posts: 27,505
Pretty sure my sweet woodruff  succumbed to the drought  but maybe  it didn't  . Shall I get the hoe out or not?
Can't find a picture  of  SW  seedlings  on net

maybe the mass is one of the annual Euphorbias but I can see one of the bigger species further back with the bluish leaves. No Woodruff but don't give up on it, I can't see much of mine but expect it back in the spring

I'd leave it until spring. It might be a bit more obvious then, and you can call it green manure in the meantime.

Yes. I spotted. That. It's definitely coming out! That's good news that it might be lurking underground @nutcutlet. Spurge is easy to pull out even when it goes beyond the seedling stage so I'll take your advice @Bee witched

Sweet woodruff has pointy leaves B3 so I'm guessing that they are spurge.

    Definitely spurge in my opinion!

I think I 'll leave it for now in case there's a diamond amongst the spurge. Hopes dashed!😊
Followed the link @Silver surfer. You never know. There's loads of seedlings in the woodruff patch. We'll see.  Maybe one or two aren't spurge.

  • @B3 No Sweet Woodruff in your photo. It is a pest in my garden I would be amazed if it doesn't return in the spring.
