    Well, if it survives transplanting into a pot and left outside, I'll let you all know. If I leave it in the gutter, someone will park on it.

    Tansy from me too. Has a distinctive, medicinal smell if you crush the leaves.

    I also wondered at the possibility of Tansy. It is the tip of the leaf that made me think Achillea.Tansy does have a strong smell that is difficult to descibe.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    Leaves smell vaguely herbal when crushed. Not a strong smell.
    It might be academic anyway as I'm not sure I could remove it without damage

  • @B3 If it is Tansy I would say the smell is strong. Even if you don't get all the root it will still grow if it is Tansy and probably the same with Achillea.

    I had tansy in the garden years ago - quite invasive.
    I thought the smell was strong and horrible.
