    The Gulf Stream provides the western coast of Scotland with a warm wet climate, with little frost. We probably get colder winter nights here in Nottingham!

    Culzean is well known for it's micro climate, especially in that walled garden, and the ground has been well amended over the years too   :)

    It's completely different from further inland, and especially at any altitude. Even a few miles further in can have heavy frosts and plenty of snow. I have personal experience of that when I lived in Ayrshire and we were snowed in regularly.  
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
