  • Fairygirl - you are right - it was the second flush thinking back now.
I‘ll just tidy up and prune after flowering to encourage second flush.
    Thank you

If you can get some pix in spring when it flowers, that'll narrow it down, but it probably isn't necessary. You can just compare your flowers with some on those sites I mentioned, and that will give you an idea of what you have, and the care required   :)

I’m still not convinced this is clematis,  but then I don’t know all of the varieties.
the plant growing from the ground and trailed along the wall doesn’t look like the one above it and behind the wall.
I don’t know of a clematis flowering on long stiff stalks.

  • I think we need to see a pic when it flowers next spring.

I agree with @Lyn. The yellow one is a different plant on the other side of the wall, may be a rose such as Malvern Hills.

I think the clematis is a Montana, in which case don't prune it. If you must prune it then do it after flowering next year.

I think you two are right @Lyn and @Busy-Lizzie. I zoomed in on the bit at the far right - where the trellis is, and there's a flower or two there, but it could easily be coming from the other side of the wall where that other plant is. It just isn't easy to see which plant is which!

It’s  easy to see if you look at my second photo,  the plant is the other side of the wall.

In that cropped photo of mine, I could see flowers quite low down @Lyn, which looked like they were on the foliage at the front of the wall [on the OP's plant] as opposed to behind it, like the plant further along which you showed.
The bits in behind the one in the OP's later pic certainly look the same as that other plant, but it was hard to tell if the flowers in my pic belonged to the clematis, or the other plant!
Hopefully @katrinkemp will be able to post spring photos [close ups] and the mystery can be solved  :)
