Do Mandrakes really exist and if they do, the best way to grow them in the UK?

    Mandragora autumnalis grows in some parts of Andalucia in southern Spain. The resemblance to the human body comes from the shape of the deep, forked roots. No they don’t scream but the person digging one up might! Given the poisonous nature of all mandrakes, perhaps not an ideal gift for a young HP fan?

    Mandrake (Mandragora officinalis) fruits smell really nice, most of the other poisonous plants I know don't.

    tropane alkaloids like hyocyamine and scopolomine. Worth checking my spelling of these, it's a long time since I last wrote them
