Curious seedlings

I imagine the first one being a holly(?), but what is the second one?

    the second has the look of a Mahonia but I've never had a seedling so that's not a definite ID

    1.Leaves appear to be opposite.
    Holly leaves are alternate.
    Maybe this is Osmanthus?
    Osmanthus heterophyllus?
