@green_grass I have only grown A Indian Summer, covered it in a thick mulch to overwinter in a south facing border. It was fine for two winters but disappeared year three. I live in the south midlands. I have always thought it grew well or maybe too well in Scotland. I assume it just rotted away in my heavy soil?

Alstromoeria are well-known to make a lot of leaves and then die away leaving a big space.   I would avoid having too many in my garden.

I would suggest that you hedge your bets:  put some in the ground, leave some outside in pots, overwinter some in your greenhouse.  Congratulate youself on a good propagating job and give some away, or sell in a boot sale.
