My pink ones are whole shoots affected, right down to the ground, so when I dig them out I might try potting some up to see whether those parts of the plant produce pink flowers (or yellow, or both, or half and half) next year. By way of an experiment, no real expectations either way. I think when it's had half-and-half flowers they've just been random ones occurring on shoots with yellow flowers.

I think this is what is known as a colour break. I remember the introduction of a new black/yellow Petunia. It varied alot from flower to flower. I think this is known as being unstable. A few years later I recall seeing the same Petunia but much improved.It had more defined black/yellow markings.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
