Wooden Compost Bin
Wil my wooden compost bin last longer if just the 4 edges were mounted on bricks? The centre would all be the optimal base of soil

If you have bricks lying around it's probably worth trying - but I wouldn't buy them in specially.
BTW I do all my composting on concrete slabs properly laid on 6" hard core etc. Much easier to clean up after turning, removing the compost etc and it's still full of the worms and other bugs that help the composting process. They're obviously not getting in from below and I think worm eggs etc must be in the soil attached to the roots of composting plants etc
IMO it's a bit of a myth that compost bins need to sit directly on soil.
