I'm planning on getting a 3m x 6m polycarbonate one but it's in a greenhouse shape (google arrow 3 greenhouse) because we live on top of a hill and it's insanely windy. That might be a good compromise between traditional greenhouse and polytunnel. Can't wait. Have 2 cold frames from aldi which have been stocked the past few years and really helped me get into gardening properly.
......I keep reading of how useful greenhouses are, and may spark off a much deeper interest in eg. growing veg, but with no proper gardening experience, I don't know how deep the bug will bite. ......
Any thoughts?
Lots of good advice already but the above comment is worrying. It's a lot of money to spend if you are not sure how interested you are and "don't know how deep the bug will bite".
Just a suggestion: you could start off with a much cheaper cold frame to test out for a season or two whether or not you are really that interested in gardening. Then if the bug has bittern, as it does with so many people, then get a greenhouse.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
There is often cheap or free ones in the papers or online.i forgot,we also have a cold frame, made from our bathroom and bedroom windows about 6 years ago, when we went posh, and put in double glazing. Ironically BOTH my neighbours,(suspect they were "keeping up with the Beaches") bought fancy large expensive jobbies, which are occasionally filled with dead plants. Neither are interested in all things gardeny
