  We used the leaves as sunshades/umbrellas when we were children.
  
  The seedcases showed the way to the inventors of Velcro ... be wary if you have spaniels ... getting the burrs out of their coats is 'time consuming'

  But when you’ve got them out you can peel and roast them like parsnips with the Sunday roast …. tasty and good for you too.
