    Don't feed a sick plant ... it's like giving a sick patient a rich four course Christmas Dinner!

    I would lift the pot into a deep container full of water and leave it there a few hours until the soil in the pot is thoroughly soaked ... then stand the pot on some raised blocks or pot feet or similar so that it drains thoroughly.  

    If it's more than a year since it was last repotted I would repot it into a larger container with fresh soil-based compost (with the addition of some leafmould and grit to lighten the mix and improve drainage).  

    When watering, a thorough soaking and then leaving it to drain is far better than little and often.  To check if it needs watering, stick your finger into the soil up to the first joint ... if it's dry there then the tree needs watering.
