Beech Hedge dying?

My beautiful established beech hedge has suddenly developed large patches where the new bud growth has shrivelled and dropped off. Cannot afford to lose the hedge as a big privacy barrier with my neighbours. What can I do?

There a couple of threads back a few days.  Have a look.

I call it beech tree mite, it's a bit like greenhouse red spider mite.  The leaves will all fall off, so no privacy barrier this winter.  Next year it should be OK.  Unless it happens again.
