Caterpillar rescue

I found a fat green caterpillar in a cocoon, attached inside my recycling bin lid, where's the best place for him?
I know they can survive outdoors, but the cocoon is really thin, so for now he's in a plastic pot with another over the top.

It might just spin another cocoon in the pot. I disturbed one this time last year and kept it in the greenhouse until June when it finally emerged. Somewhere dry and cool is ideal.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
