  It's a seed pod.  The strange shape is because it was only partially pollinated.

  I agree a beautiful thing and an added bonus.

  I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

  Sow them in autumn so they stratify over winter and they will germinate next year.

  @selina.shields I collected some fallen seeds once but sadly they did not keep. Not the same as yours but I think they can be dried?

  Plant them straight away, cover with grit and leave in a pot outside.
