Weeds? in my paving.

First time for these.

They look very edible, but that is their little trick.

My Sulphate of Iron solution is also an answer for mushroom-like fungi in lawns and those fungi that attack grass leaves.  But will stain paving - (might be an improvement).

Is it that a real problem @Bede? Without fungi we wouldn't be here as you know.

    Fungi are not weeds.

No, and I don't think they are ugly either. They look like a little family. You could just leave them alone.

Might be the start of a Fairy Village!!

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • I believe they are an alien species which grow to around 2 metres in height.  They are unaffected by any chemical substances as far as is known. Once mature, they will produce Gnome like creatures which can be preserved in vinegar and used to decorate your lawn.  There is only a very short time frame in which the fungi are edible - as yet this hasn't been precisely determined but you could begin some practical research ?

Uff, no problem.  They have now opened out.  For interest they are probably growing om the roots of Hydrangea petiolaris.

To all, they are not a problem to me.  I posted on "problems" as an ironic echo to the "weeds in paving thread".  They are of course if not in the wrong place, but are in an unexpected place.  I doubt if my wife will let me eat them.
