  • A lovely idea for gifts. Very small cakes do not take so long to cook. I have never made small cakes, I think I would wrap them in brown paper before baking to avoid them burning. I have seen baking programs on TV where empty tin cans were used to cook small cakes.

    The ones you get  pineapple chunks in might be a good shape
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • At last! Christmas puddings and mincemeat made. Just the final clearing up to do, then life can go back to normal.

    Just to add to the mincemeat discussion, I used butter instead of suet last year. It was very nice and moist too.

  • I looked at several recipes, some said to use brandy. some said to use rum, so I used both! Tastes good to me!

    I've made Pam Corbin's mincemeat recipe a few times. No suet - it uses chopped walnuts which provide enough oil without adding any fat. I really like it
