Dahlia Cafe au lait royal - how clever is nature, bet I won’t get another one of these!

    @k.e.r  - that certainly does look like a one off. These mutations do turn up in dahlias.

    I'm still waiting for my cafe au lait to open, but it is showing more purple like the colour you have there. I thought I had mixed them up, but maybe its the weather.

    How lovely. It is a beautiful dahlia anyway, but the mutations improve it IMO

    It's not clever nature, just a genetic mistake. If you were to culture the local petal tissues you would get pure creamy-white and pure purple flowers, perhaps a mix, never the almost exact 45º slice.
