Insulated plasterboard is good stuff if installed correctly. The main thing to think about is how to extend services to allow for the extra wall thickness. Check sockets and switches have enough slack in the wiring, radiators will need to be remounted and pipework extended. Remounting fittings like curtain rails will need special fixings.
A board backed with PIR insulation will give the best thermal value and the thicker the better. You'll also need to look into slimline boards to fit the window reveals or you'll risk increased condensation there. The whole lot needs to be really well sealed so that water vapour doesn't get in behind the insulation and condense on the wall. That just needs a bit of attention to detail, and a builder who understands what attention to detail means.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
People don’t seem to ever mention insulted plaster board😉
I put quite a thin version into a freezing box room about four years ago and it seems to make a big difference. A bit hard to know as I put in lots of underfloor and flat roof woolly insulation at the same time.
I will do more research, but I think I would go for more around the house - the thickest I can where possible and thinner everywhere else. I am looking at getting an eco firm to advise on steps.
This stuff can be easier to deal with in terms of running services and allowing new mounting points for radiators etc. You can fold it into the windows too as long as you get the detailing right. The minimum finished thickness would be about 70mm though.

my room’s are small so it would worth taking down rads and shelving to put all the board in properly.
To accommodate the roof shape, the bedroom ceiling is curved. That large curved surface is the coldest bit - away from double glazed windows and the radiator below; below the loft insulation. I did thermal imaging on the house last year.
It’s a big job, and I have been balking at the faff, but it has to be done. I’m fed up with heating the wind.

Are there any “half way house” measures for solar? Is it an “all or nothing” thing?

Lol.
Thanks @wild edges
