Is my pond too big?

Hello all.

Somewhere between 9 months ago when I bought the felt and liner for my pond and today, when I realised the liner was too small, my pond grew in size. 🙈

Now, everyone here always say that you’ll never regret going too big but I just wanted to get some feedback from others. My biggest concern, I suppose, is getting to the area behind the pond for plant maintenance.

Should I go for it and keep it big and risk wet feet?

I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

So would I, but I see the problem. Don't feel safe to tramp around in it in big boots, even with the felt.

straddle a scaffold board across it for maintenance?
Or a ladder with a board on top?

Not too big IMO.  You could have an edge of paving bricks going round the two far sides for walking on when you need to maintain the bushes.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

Ok, done! Big pond it is!

I'm going to need a bigger boat. Or liner. 😀

We have exactly the same problem ... I rely on OH and a visiting WonkyWomble to deal with things going on at the back.  :D

.....or a humpback bridge for playing pooh sticks!!
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Is there such a thing as a too big pond? 😁

@Dovefromabove I play the WonkleWomble role for my dad and the OH role in my own house so I guess I'll be walking that scaffold plank on my own! 😂
