    @jjohns007 Welcome. Whether you live north or south always helps when giving or receiving advice.Growing conditions vary so muchas I am sure you know.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    But some of us (moi!!!) are just plain nosy. Seriously, I love to know where folk live and what type of garden they have.

    A good choice of forum. A bit too mumsnetty at times for me.   But don't expect posters to know their geopgraphy or your microclimate.

    In your posts, tell us as much as possible about the background; many treat us as dectectives not simple gardeners; photos if necessary.

    And and use common names, but remember that they are not universally recognised.  Latin alongside is much better.
