@phelan878, the potted hollies would do better planted in a mix of John Innes No.3 compost which contains more nutrients and is better for long term trees and shrubs in pots, with perhaps a bit of ordinary multi-purpose compost and some Horticultural grit mixed in.
They ought then to last much longer than Xmas.
I'm presuming you intend to keep them outside - they won't do very well kept inside the house as it will probably be too warm and dry.
Make sure you keep them well watered.

What medium are they growing in at the moment?  Are they 1.  just newly potted, 2. root-bound, 3. roots growing nicely?
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

What size pots are they in? Often the pots and compost that plants are sold in are only meant to keep them going until they're sold (one reason why they end up on the half-price-half-dead shelf if they don't get sold in a relatively short time). They should probably should be planted out in the ground or possibly into large tubs/containers with some good soil-based compost
