What to do now with Digitalis and Thalictrum seedlings sown last month?
Hi, I read somewhere (can't find it now!) that it was ok to sow Foxgloves and Thalictrum seeds in Autumn for stronger plants next year (see pic for their current size). These are currently in my unheated solar potting shed so get plenty of light and frost protection. I am new to growing seeds so wonder what to do with them now? Do I need to pot them up/overwinter them in the potting shed or outside, or can they be planted outside (seem too small for that?) Or anything else I should be doing. I don't have a Cold Frame unfortunately. Many thanks

They won't grow much now until spring arrives.
When they get a bit bigger (about 2") you can pot them on and when they're bigger they can be moved outside somewhere bright but sheltered next Spring

Thalictrum self-seeds in my garden, so I leave them to it.

When I plant mine out in late autumn they're usually in 1L pots.
If I wait until spring, they'll be in 2L pots by then.
PS - once you've got them in your garden if you let the seed drop you'll have thousands of seedlings by summer - you can then use those seedlings for your plants the following year.
I only sow seeds if I want all white ones as dropped seed will be a mix of colours.
