Yet more great photos of autumn. I remember the crab apple in blossom @Papi Jo, what a super tree. It seems to have been a long season of colour this year, so welcome when the rainy gloomy days come.
Dying days of autumn. I did a countryside walk this afternoon instead of my usual woodland one and found some interesting trees (not these) and wondered if anyone might be interested in showing us their pics if we start a thread.
Back to my usual walking haunt with the wee fellow. About 3 years ago this river was in full spate after heavy rain for days. We were at the top of the bank, he went down it with his nose to the ground, stepped into the water and was washed away. It all happened in a split second.
I was convinced I wouldn't see him again but called him anyway. He wouldn't have heard me because of the roar of the water but after about 5 mins he came through the woodland towards me. I guess he was pushed to the bank on a bend and he scrambled out. If dogs have 9 lives one of his went down the river, so to speak.

A lovely photo.
