What to do!!!

My daughter gave me this plant yesterday,can anyone tell me whether I should cut this down & pot up the part I cut off. As you can see it is not able to hold up itself up. I’ve never had succulents before so have no knowledge of how to look after them. Any help much appreciated.

    Personally, I would cut off the top, leave it to dry for a week then strip lower leaves and  put into a pot of compost to root. Any leaves that fall off can also be rooted though will take some time. The portion left will probably branch out and give you a much better looking plant.
    Keep all bits in full sun. Its getting late for cuttings so they will need sunlight.
