plant ID needed

Hi I grew this plant from mixed packet of seeds. I know its a phytolacca but unsure if its p.americana or p.dioica.
It doesnt have the red stems of americana but seen that sometimes has green stems. It has a swollen stem/tuber near roots. Any experts who can confirm?

  • @Ynnead I have only seen americana with really red stems. Very poisonous as I am sure you are aware. Sorry unable to add any more.

Thanks for the reply. When I googled it, I did see it with green stems so unsure. Hopefully if it survives overwinter, it might develop enough next year to get a positive ID.

Just necroing my own thread from last year. This unknown is starting to make flowers so maybe someone can ID. Google lens and plant ID apps all think its a pokeweed of some sort.

This is our Phytolacca americana. It is growing outdoors and not as an indoor plant. Your leaves are a lot shiny compared to outdoors.

I grew it from a lottery seed packet for indoor/greenhouse plants last year. Second year now.
