Wow, looks very frozen over there but lovely photos all. We’re getting heavy morning frosts but they melt pretty quickly. The sky looks heavy with snow now, but none forecast. Not that that means anything, our little pocket of countryside never reads predictions.

Thanks @newbie77 I thought Versigny might be ok in a pot but thanks for confirming. It has been touted in some forums as a good substitute for Lady Emma Hamilton, more heat tolerant too, but the fragrance not as good. I’m supposed to be reducing pots but they are multiplying instead!

Covid is lingering, but I am feeling better, thanks to all asking - at least I don’t feel like someone is ratcheting a band around my head anymore - like Gertrude’s pot!

Thanks @Lizzie27 think we're in the same part of the country to you! The rose is now ensconced in a bucket of water, looks nice and healthy, good root system, just as well I unpacked it as it was on the verge of drying up....though well-packed I suspect it's taken its time getting to me! The garage should be frost-free but will watch the forecasts and bring it indoors overnight if temps are set to plummet. I don't mind a bit of frost and snow but the timing is very poor!  :D

@Nollie, versigney is bigger than my lady Emma H. I bought it after seeing it's photos posted by Chicago lady in Houzz. I have not read that forum for almost a year now but it is nice to see photos there so I will start reading again over winter.

I have not clicked any photos but everything is looking amazing and with all the Christmas decorations and frost, it was looking very festive and magical.

I don't enjoy being out for long in this weather though. I like a bit milder when jacket is enough and I don't need whole scatf hat gloves etc for a long walk.

Hi all, hope you’re all keeping warm. Has anyone used one click plants for their potted roses? If so are they any good? £18 reduced from £25 seems reasonable for 4L potted roses.
  • @newbie77 - thanks, I do like that photo!

I’ve been buying some new to me, second hand lenses this weekend ready for next year. A 100mm macro which will allow me to get some nice frame filling rose photos without having to stomp through the beds to get to them, and a 15mm wide angle for wider shots of the garden.

Very pretty arrangement, Tack are they roses from your garden?

@Alfie_ if you don’t get any response re experience of one click plants, maybe post in plants general to see if anyone has bought from them? That doesn’t seem much of a bargain to me, many reputable rose growers offer potted for less, e.g. cottage memories, styles etc. Maybe check around and see who has the ones you are interested in?

I am always a bit wary buying from retail on-sellers, especially late season. You’ve no idea how long they’ve been hanging around, possibly sad and root bound if they are leftovers from early summer or not rooted at all if they have just been lifted, root pruned and plonked into pots - in which case you may as well order bare root, which are better value anyway. Perhaps that’s just me being cynical!

Sadly not Nollie, they are wedding flower leftovers.
Alfie, I agree with Nollie. There are many physical rose retailers who also have an online store that we can recommend which would be a safer bet and no more expensive, probably. Which roses are you after?
