Salvia pruning

I have lots of shrubby salvias, Hot lips, Jezebel, Cherry lips etc which have grown huge. Although they are beautiful they are now all over the paths. Is it possible to cut them back at this time of the year or would that be a no-go?

You can cut them back, personally l would do it by no more than a third or so :) .

I cut them back with hedge cutters in Sept, for a last blooming before the winter. Just make sure you don't cut below the lowest green growth and you should be fine.
  • Thanks everybody. I’ll give it a try 👍
