@LunarSea - I was chuckling at your name and thinking, what a coincidence when I read your post and saw that you had listed Camel's Moonmadness in your prog rock section.  I am married to Andy Ward who came up with the name Lunar Sea for the title of that track!  Andy is in charge of the music in our house but luckily we have very similar tastes.  Our all time hands down favourite is Soft Machine.

A slight digression. I am listening to Mantel's Wolf Hall again, on a loop. She died a few weeks ago. God, what a loss. And what a heaven it is to listen to good prose read by a great narrator.

Hi @didyw - I hope Andy will forgive me for nicking his brilliant 'play on words' :) . You & I discussed Camel a while ago when I used a different username here. Still my favourite ever prog band. I saw some footage of your Andy, Andy Latimer & Doug Ferguson in a studio recording a track called 'Left Luggage' which was supposed to be released on a new album but alas I've never seen it appear. Really good stuff though and I'd like to know what became of it and if it's available to buy.

Yes I really like Soft Machine as well. I have a particularly 'soft' spot for the Karl Jenkins' era albums, especially 'Softs'.

I need help. Watched Geoff Wayne's War of the World's Opera last week
Ever since I have been singing "no Daniel",and "The chances of anything coming from Mars"...... even when I wake up in the night. Nobody say "earworm" I cannot abide that expression. There IS actually an "earworm",mind you, I do have a pretty good singing voice!

@Nanny Beach I've also got a good voice and love to sing to the Carpenters and 2 tracks of George Michael.

  • I am very excited to have tickets to Rag 'n' Bone Man, Life by Misadventure tour in Paris in November. Heard his voice before I ever saw him and just loved it, was very surprised when I saw his photo, but still adore the music and think he's very talented and also shows you how appearances can be deceptive.
