Anisodentea

Hello everyone I have this mallow called anisodentea which I really like but i want to cut it back ideally now? I cut it back to around 2ft this spring and it responded well but can I do it at this time of year? It’s become much more sprally that want I want would it also cope with being moved this time of year? I think it is classed as a shrub - many thanks 😊

Have you found this to be hardy @Copperdog? I've lost it twice over winters and would hesitate to cut back very much now

  • Hi @nutcutlet I have only had it since before last winter but perhaps it was mild? Think I’ll wait until spring if you’ve had an issue - many thanks

You could shorten it now, just enough to minimise wind rock. Final/major pruning in spring.
  • I agree I would shorten it they are prone to wind rock.
