Plant ID please

Hi everyone

We have had these 2 plants grow from a packet of blue salvia! We have had a look online but can't really find anything that seems to match and give us an idea of what they are.

The red grass stems are similar to bamboo and the plant is about 18 inches high and is branching out from the base as well.

The other plant has hairs on the leaves but does not smell and the stems are pretty much square.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Top one could be red millet - just a guess
2nd one with the square stems could be a lamium of some sort

  • Thank you
Will go and have a look at the dead nettles
We are happy with whatever these are, it made up for the lack of blue salvias of which none grew!

  • @CoastalGardener If you want to grow salvias next year perhaps invest in one small plant as they are very easy from cuttings. Welcome!
