Reverting allotment to lawn

Hi,

I’m purchasing a property where the garden is all fruit and veg. As lovely as this is, I would like some lawn. How easy/expensive is it to revert it back to lawn?

    I think the concensus will be that 'easy' and '(in)expensive' won't go well together?

    It could be as cheap as a packet of lawn seed, or as expensive as hiring contractors... Do you have a photo you can post here? Are you thinking of doing some/all of it yourself?

    Personally, I would flinch, thinking of all the money and amendment that has gone into the veg beds- years of work. If you don’t like veg growing I would turn them into flower beds and ditch plans for a lawn.

    Thanks for everyone’s advice. I probably should have asked what’s involved, this would then depend on whether I would do it myself. Unfortunately my dog needs some lawn. It breaks my heart to revert some of it back to lawn, but I know if I don’t buy it someone else will and they will just add an extension and turn it into lawn anyway.

    If it's a lawn for a dog, very easy and cheap. Getting a fairly flat surface with mostly grass just requires some elbow grease and a packet of grass seed, it's the perfectly flat weed free lawns that require lots of money/time/effort.
