Cucumber plant issue..

I was reliably told that these would be ok on the conservatory windowsill, the "mini munch" variety cucumber. It was doing great, nice green leaves and lots of small cucumbers forming, the cucumbers are still there but why have the leaves lost the colour? Should I feed it with a little tomorite?

  • Mine look similar … it’s autumn and they’re nearly over … but we’ve had loads of cucumbers from them … have you had any/many?

Mind you, ours are in much larger pots than yours …. like really big buckets … and we’ve been feeding them with tomato fertilizer…

  • I've had about 15 or 16 off both the 2 that i did in the Summer, quite prolific, i read somewhere that they can keep going and producing lomger than the rest, I've noticed at the top that they are slightly filling out the cucumbers now, should I give them a cap full each of tomorite?
  • Dilute tomato feed in the amounts shown on the container. Using more is counter productive.
As yours are inside you might harvest a few more if you’re lucky, but ours are outside, look the same and are over now.
Next year use bigger pots. 😊

I've grown mini-munch for the last couple of years.
Mine is in a 22L pot in the greenhouse and about 10ft.
It has produced well and still is.
The lower leaves are fading now, but the top growth still looks good with lots of baby fruits and still new flowers coming.
As the weather cools it will slow down and and grind to a halt in the next few weeks.

  • Looks like spider mite damage to me.  Look for webbing at the growing tips.  You need a magnifying glass to see the mites.  Whether it is or not, there's nothing you can do now other than grow them in larger containers next year - your present pots look a bit on the small size, so watering would be tricky.

I used the same containers for my previous harvest earlier in the year. So I don't think it's a pot issue.
  • How long did your first planting continue to crop? ... I've two Mini-munch plants outside in large containers ... I've been picking scores of cucumbers since the beginning of July ... as I said, the plants are just finishing now.

  • My 1st batch were cropping for about 3 months. I'll try them again next year too.
