My poor pyracanthas
I have moved to a new place, the garden has been exceptionally dry and I didn't think I needed to water the four pyracanthas. One died while I was away for a week and it looks like another ( in another part of the garden) is also affected. Im thinking prune hard, water ++ and mulch and hope for the best? Grateful for your thoughts!

What a shame and just at the time when they should be at their best!
I agree, lots of water and a mulch.
You can get an idea of what parts are dead by the fingernail test - starting toward the top of each main stem just scrape the thin skin from the top of the bark - if it's alive you should see some green, if not, that part is dead. Work your way down the shrub until you find some green, then you know to where to cut.
It may be OK, in extreme circumstances plants will shed leaves etc and shut down as much as possible to stay alive then spring back into life when some water arrives.

There maybe some dieback by the spring, but you can cut that out then.
Sounds like it's mostly OK
