Identifying tree

I have a tree in my yard i am trying to identify. It has been dropping a zillion seed pods in our yard here in Oregon. We have lived here four years and have not experienced this large number of seed pods, and the tree has some darker leaves, but that could be because we are coming into fall here. Is anyone able to identify this tree? I’m hoping it is not sick.
