Grass not growing

Following the recent rain, my lawn has stared to regrow in patches as shown in the attached photos.
Any advice please on the action I should take with the bare patches?
Many thanks.

It would benefit from a rake over with a spring-tine rake. That will lift the compacted grass, allow air and water into the soil and plant roots and help new growth.

I'd leave it for a bit. Mine looked like that last week but we've had some useful rain over a few days and the green blades are now poking through. I think it would be a shame if you uprooted the grass before it had time to recover but I'm no expert.

  • Thanks B3 - I'll leave it for a bit then.

If it's an established 'lawn', it should come back, as long as you get more rain and there's enough warmth for it to grow away.  Worst case scenario, you can over seed in spring, or even during this month if it's warm enough.
I'm guessing with the condition, that this month might be fine for that  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

It will grow as long as the temperature is about 8⁰ or more, so it has plenty of time yet. 👍
