Morning, i have just ordered some 9cm Vinca Major Variegata and was wondering if they can be planted out straight away or are they better potted on. Thanks

  • @harmony Most plants in a 9cm pot should be potted on but V Major is a bit of a thug. If the soil is well prepared I would go ahead and plant them. Water until established, you may need to do this in the winter if it remains dry. Only water if frost free.

Variegata isn't so bad but keep an eye on it anyway😊
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Even the V minor variegata can spread quite rapidly if allowed to so I'd keep an eye on it as per @B3
  • @harmony In a 9cm pot could arrive pot bound, I would tease out the roots before planting . Once established cut back in February so that you can see the flowers, new shoots will be developing.
