Best time to reposition log pile

I had some trees felled earlier this year and the logs have just been left in a heap.
I'd very much like to keep the logs for the wildlife but I really need to move them elsewhere.
If I move them now am I likely to do any harm to anything that may already be using the logs?
Am hoping I might be in-between breeding and hibernation time.
Thanks.

Should be ok .The critters will just go where the logs go .

Some insect larvae, eg Stag Beetles are in there for years but if they haven't been there long the bottom ones have barely started rotting yet so probably not a lot of that sort. I'd do it now before hibernation gets under way
