  They are gorgeous little things aren't they ... we have a pair that have nested in the rampant honeysuckle for the past three years ... they spend a lot of time scuttering around under the rhubarb and grapevine harvesting insects and the spillages from the bird feeders in that part of the garden.  Love them.

  Yes, so wonderfully loud! 
  These are very shy, so I've been putting a bit of food under the shrubs for them. 
  I was so busy watching one through binoculars, wondering what he was chatting about, that I didn't notice 'occasional drinking cat' had appeared!

  They appear shy, but one pair have nested this year in the old garage door mechanism - never closed because of the swallows - and seem completely oblivious to us coming and going. It's almost as though they feel safe with us, a pair of wrens nested on top of the door on the other side

  A couple of years ago we had a couple of Robin's building a nest in an open fronted box low down behind a bush, then I noticed a Dunnock kept flying down to the same area the Robin chased it off time after time eventually giving up the nest site for the Dunnock to nest in the box.

  Yes … I suspect ‘our’ male  dunnock is ‘responsible’ not only for the nest in the honeysuckle in the back garden, but also for the one in Clem. ‘Freckles’ in the front garden.
