East Anglia can be pretty chilly l think @cheznousbs ?
A lot depends on the type of salvias and perennials you have ready to plant (in my opinion). If you have well drained soil and they won't be sitting in the wet over Winter then l should get them planted, but as l said, it does depend on what they are. If you have any shrubby salvias l'd be tempted to keep them up against the house wall if you don't have a coldframe, with maybe some fleece to put over them in any colder spells.
Let's hope there's not another "Beast from the East".
@cheznousbs - I'm planting out now anything that is frost hardy and big enough to fend for itself- now that there's finally moisture in the ground and still a couple of months of growing season to establish the plant.
Anything else stays in pots now until spring, for me at least
@AnniD@borgadr Thank you so much, that makes sense. Yes we can get quite frosty but tend to avoid the worst usually - however, after this Summer who knows what Winter will bring us all.
