I deadhead English lavenders in August/September and they sometimes reflower afterwards. Dutch lavenders keep going long into late autumn, so they get deadheaded much later. I prune both types in late winter, as much as I can without cutting into old wood.
  • Mine are all English.  I started cutting mine back this afternoon, but was only a third of the way through when the thunder started - hopefully it will clear up later! Might try deadheading in August next year to see if I can get a second lot of flowers - thanks @edhelka for the tip!
