I'm pulling out the vinca in case it revives and came across these two self seeders One's a Bay. Never seen that before. It must've been there a while . Is the other a cotoneaster? If it is, do you know what variety it might be ?
@B3 you could crush a leaf to find out if it is Bay but it does seem a little small for that! Gone off the idea of holly. I feel certain the first is Viburnum Tinus
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
I did. It definitely is bay and I have one quite nearby. There's a VT across the road @GardenerSuze much more interesting than cotoneaster. Thanks @Desi_in_London. It's definitely a bay. Hollies are seeding out the back 😒 It's amazing what you find lurking under the vinca! Found a few helebores, a hebe and some of those smelly yellow shrubs with the black or red berries ( disposed of)
Possibly but at least it's not cotoneaster @GardenerSuze. I'll pot it up - eventually and maybe plant it. If it gets beetled I'll get rid. Plants I would have weeded or given away, I'm keeping. Who knows what gaps there'll be next year😟
@B3 That is a very important point. I am sure alot of gardeners will have lost plants. Hopefully with some rain some lifting and splitting will fill some gaps.
