Muscari depth

EmerionEmerion Posts: 599
Hello,
This autumn I want to plant some tulips with muscari around them in pots, and maybe in the ground. I’m going to plant the tulips about a foot deep, and I’m wondering how deep I can get away with planting the muscari. Advice online says 4 inches, but I’m wondering if you have planted yours deeper and found that they’re OK? I want to do this so that I won’t keep digging up bulbs when planting other stuff above them later on.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

4” is the usual depth but you could try deeper if you want to .Gardening is all about experimentation and patience as far as I’m concerned.
