I have no idea what plant these 'seeds' are from (photo).

As the title really. I was digging weeds up in an area of the garden yesterday. I saw this and had no idea what it was. There will be someone on here that recognises it.

It looks like lots of small eggs, but could be some sort of weed seeds.

They do Bilje. If it wasn't for the small stalks we could say they were  eggs from some sort of insects.

There are quite a lot all together there. Usually when I see mushrooms growing they seem to be spread around.

I agree with @Bilge ...  that's fungi if some sort.

Close up,  they have ridges on the cups.

  • Definitely a fungi of some sort.
  • So many of them in that one place, but nowhere else in the garden. I doubt they have come with good intention😀. Maybe good intention for themselves 👽
  • I looked this morning and most of them have gone. Based on the white trails I assume the slugs have eaten them.

Snails don’t eat them,  most fungi live only for a day or two, then rot down to improve your soil.
